Ruth Martin Traber, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Born on April 30, 1930, in Six Mile, South Carolina, she was the widow of Robert Traber and a daughter of the late Barney and Annie Lusk Martin.

Mrs. Traber embodied a spirit of love and generosity that touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a dedicated homemaker and spent many years lending her skills as a bookkeeper for her husband's cabinet shop, skillfully balancing family and work with grace.

A long-time member of Liberty First Baptist Church, Ruth found joy in serving her community and her church family. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her will remember her vibrant spirit, her passion for decorating for special occasions, and her unwavering commitment to ensuring that no family or friend ever left her home hungry. Her kindness and warmth will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

She is survived by two sisters, Alma Pace and Dorothy Gibson; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends including a very special friend, Eddie Rackley. Each of them carries forward the love and lessons Ruth imparted throughout her life.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Robert Stanley Traber; three sisters, Thelma Black, Francis Pearson, and Margie Nalley; and three brothers, Claude Martin, John B. Martin, and David Martin.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held 12:00 PM Noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in a private ceremony at Liberty Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:45 until 11:45 AM at the mortuary.

In honoring Ruth's legacy, we find comfort in the knowledge that she will always live on through the love she spread and the lives she touched. May she rest in peace, knowing the imprint she left on this world will never fade. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the loving care provided to her by Prisma Health Hospice of the Foothills, and her nurse Jessica Bagwell.
