Ruth Vadas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartmell-Davis Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. - Main Office on Nov. 27, 2022.
Ruth M (Gunther) Vadas of Plymouth died peacefully on Thanksgiving evening, November 24, 2022. Born in Norwalk CT in 1935, the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Gunther she grew up in Westport CT and graduated from Staples High School in 1954. Ruth went on to attend Parsons School of Design in New York City and later proudly graduated from Bridgewater State College, with a bachelors in art.
A resident of Cohasset, Duxbury, Plymouth and Sandwich, MA, Ruth was extremely creative, a lifelong artist; she enjoyed sewing, painting, and drawing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Whether they were camping, cooking, going out for Sunday breakfast dates, dressing up, "toodle-ing", or floating at Scorton Creek, she made each one feel special.
Ruth had a longtime career as an activities director at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health within group homes, as well as with the Sisters of Notre Dame in Wilton CT.
Ruth is survived by her son Keith Vadas and his wife Lynne of Carver, her daughter Victoria Vadas Paulding of Plymouth, her grandchildren Ryan Supple and his wife Colleen, Megan and Andrew Vadas, Brooke and Casey Paulding; and the newest additions to "GG"'s heart, her great-grandchildren, Weston and Grant Supple.
She is also survived by her sister Helen Dominick. Ruth is preceded in death by her brother Harold Gunther.
Ruth will be dearly missed by her family and friends. "We love you more!" Services will be held in the Spring in CT, details to follow.
