Mishawaka – Ruth Evelyn Werntz, 87 passed away on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at the North Woods Village of Edison Lakes in Mishawaka, after a period of declining health.
Ruth was born on October 3, 1937, in Miami, FL to the late Edward E. and Hilda A. (Durdan) Ryles. She was married to the late William Werntz Sr. on December 2nd, 1955, in Miami, FL. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Denise Werntz and 6 brothers and a sister.
Ruth was a longtime resident on Providence Court in Mishawaka. She loved all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing with her cats. She was a member of the F.O.E. Eagles Lodge and the BK club.
Ruth is survived by her children; Billy Werntz Jr of Celina, Ohio, Earl (Rose) Werntz of Dayton, Ohio, Peggy (Don) Edmonson of Mishawaka, Gary Werntz of Mishawaka, Ken (Roberta) Werntz of Goshen, Linda (Doug) Perkins of Ft. Wayne, Evelyn (Gerald) Wood of Plymouth; 23 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren, sisters; June Smith of Georgia, Betty Miller of Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 8th from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 8th, 2024, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chris Miller officiating at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, IN.
The Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola IN.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Charities.
