Obituary of Ruth Ann Whetstine
With heavy hearts announce the sudden passing of my beloved mom Ruthe who was a loving Wife, sister and lifelong friend too many.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike and son Steven Whetstine, her parents John and Hazel
Hatfield and by her Sister Mary Myers. She is survived by her daughter Lori Whetstine, her brother John Hatfield and sister Sallie Hatfield, Joe Whetstine and dear close family friend Linda Horst, Leslie and Dick Dickson her high school friends Eileen and Chuck, and many family on her husband's side.
For those who knew Ruthe knew that she loved many things the color purple, her love for Starbucks and since she was a teen she loved Neil Diamond much to her family's delight. She was kind, loving and had a way that treated others with love and respect sprinkled with a motherly love, and her odd sense of humor and laughter.
Ruthe met her husband Mike through a family mutual friend Sue who knew that the two nutty crazy people will not only hit it off but grow a family as nutty as they were; and share their kindness and love and craziness with those they cherish. She supported her husband for 22 years in the Air Force and raised a family that started in Washington State to Colorado Springs Colorado to Woomera Australia to Caseville Michigan then coming back to Washington State.
What started as mas help for extra Christmas money at Target in 1994 at the South Hill Puyallup locatio many different positions to where she was able to retire in 2019 after 25+ years with Target. Durin at time she made many Lifelong friendships that lasted well after they worked at target. She also met and gained a Sister Linda who she grew very' close with.
Her love for Family, Friends and children she gave endlessly and she had a way that you knew she cared and wished the very best for ail who knew her. She will be greatly missed by everyone so when you see the color purple or have a cup from Starbucks remember Ruthe
We will be having a celebration of Life reception to share and honor Ruthe more details to come on when and where it will be. We hope you come to share your memories or just fellowship and honor her.
Peace be with you.
