Ruth Alice Williams was born August 19, 1931, at Iron Mountain, Wyoming and passed away on July 31, 2025, at Life Care in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Ruth graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1949. She married James Claude Williams in Cheyenne that year and they made a home together for several years south of the city. Later they moved to Moran Junction and managed the Pinto Ranch, a well-known spot for tourists to ride horseback and enjoy the adventure of packing tents and camp gear into the forest, where camp was set up near a lake with fishing and wildlife activities. Ruth later moved into the Town of Jackson where she lived and worked for Jackson State Bank for many years. She loved horses and dogs and owned many before transferring from Jackson to Cheyenne for assisted care.
Her parents, James Daniel McLees and Marian Gladys McLees, and brother, John Raymond McLees, and sister, Beverly Joyce Shinkle, preceded her in death. She has one remaining sister, Bonnie Kathleen Reider, and several nieces and nephews. She had no surviving children, and her beloved husband James Claude Williams also preceded her in death. Her cremains will be interred beside him in Jackson, Wyoming.
