Ruthann Walters, age 81, of rural Arcadia, died at 9:56 am on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Independence House in Fostoria. She was born on October 2, 1944, in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Robert and Martha (Reinhard) Phillips. On January 13, 1963, she married Clair E. Walters and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughters: Susan (David) Barton of Findlay, Catherine (Brad) Schneck of Vancouver, British Columbia, Cassandra Walters of Rockland, Maine, and Amy (Chris) Musson of Fostoria; sisters: Elaine (Fred) Ziegman of Findlay and Sharon (Wade) Estes of Louisiana; grandchildren: Amanda (Wyatt) Ault, Anna (Jared) Leon, Andrea Schneck, Allison (Marcus) Anderson, Emily (Spencer) Knapp, Eric (Alexis, fiancee) Musson and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Phillips.
Ruthann was a secretary at Arcadia High School and later retired as an administrative assistant for the Hancock County Education Service Center. Ruthann had been involved in Religious Education teaching in Hancock County as well as VBS and childrens programs at West Independence Church. She was a 1962 graduate of Vanlue High School.
Visitation will be held from 1-5 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay. An additional visitation will be held an hour prior to funeral, at 10:00 am. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 3, 2025, with Pastor Erma Metzger officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be given to either, Hancock County Religious Education Fund, P.O. Box 118, Van Buren, Ohio 45889 or to the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio, 580 Craig Drive #8, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.
