Joshua R. Walters, 47, of Clinton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.
Josh is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Dawn Walters (Ferguson), two sons, Logan Walters and Ki Walters, and his grandson, Lyle Walters. He is also survived by his parents, Gloria and Tony Walters of Montezuma, Indiana, and his sister, Belinda (Cody) Anderson of Clinton, Indiana and Annie Guyton of Aberdeen, Washington.
Josh graduated from Riverton Parke High School and served with the U.S. Air-Force. He dedicated much of his career to Superior Hardwoods in Montezuma, where he built lasting relationships with his coworkers and the community. His work ethic was strong, but it was his dedication to family and friends that truly set him apart. An avid fisherman, Josh cherished his time outdoors, often spending hours by the water and living life to its fullest. He loved the peace and serenity that came with fishing, but it was always about the company and the laughter along the way. Whether out on the water or simply enjoying life with those around him, Josh's passion for adventure and joy for life was contagious. Josh's extended family knew no bounds. He loved big and made everyone feel like they were part of his circle. Always quick with a smile and a never-ending supply of dad jokes, he had a unique way of brightening the day and bringing laughter to all. Whether it was cracking a joke or offering a hug, Josh was the first to give a circle and never failed to get a rise out of those who knew him.
A loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Josh will be deeply missed. His infectious personality, humor, and love for his family will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Josh. Your love, laughter, and zest for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.
The family will host a Celebration of Life from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 21 at the Montezuma Community Center, 800 North Jackson Street, Montezuma, Indiana.
