Ryan Otis Alexander, 54, of Rathdrum, Idaho, was received into his loving Savior’s embrace on October 3rd, 2024.

Ryan was born in Corning, California on May 16, 1970 to Frank Alexander and Delia Graham Alexander. He spent most of his childhood exploring the hills of Northern California and summers in the lush peninsula of western Washington.

Ryan was an adventurer from the start and loved to create imaginary worlds in his surroundings. He had an innate gift to see the beauty in this world from an artistic view which led him to his occupation as a film videographer and editor. Ryan had the opportunity to film in many amazing places, from the coast of Hawaii and Mexico, to the remote edges of Alaska, to the barren deserts of southern Utah, Ryan captured the beauty of it all in a way that only he could. We are blessed to have his photography and video work as a memorial of his passion to capture the beauty in this world.

Ryan was a fierce protector of his family, a loyal and loving husband, a dedicated father and teacher to his children, a loving son and brother. He loved being a father to Brenna, Kaylee, Lincoln, and his angel daughter, Ashlyn. They always knew they could come to him for advice or guidance and he would talk with them for hours about the philosophy of life. There was never a dull moment when Ryan was around. Some kind of prank or joke was always on the horizon and we waited on the edge of our seat for it. Ryan loved to create a good story through experiences and made every moment meaningful and unforgettable.

Ryan is survived by the “love of his life and his rock”, Melanie Alexander and their three children, Brenna (Sam) Gekeler, Kaylee, and Lincoln. His parents Reed and Delia Rasmussen, brothers and sisters, Scott (Beezy) Alexander, Landon (Shadlee) Rasmussen, Laird (Jennifer) Rasmussen, Lars (Debbie) Rasmussen, Lara (Kevin) Bone, and many nieces and nephews who loved their crazy Uncle Ryan.

Ryan is preceded in death by his daughter, Ashlyn Grace, and his father, Frank Otis Alexander.

A memorial service will be held on October 12th, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1670 McGuire Rd, Post Falls, Idaho. Viewing will be at 10am, memorial services at 11am.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who have reached out to share their love, concern and prayers.
