Ryan Douglas Ewing, age 53, of Centennial, Colorado passed away on Thursday, January 8th, 2026. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend to many.
He was born on September 11, 1972 in Crookston, Minnesota to Dale and Suzanne (Altepeter) Ewing. In his younger years, he was known for his mischievous streak and fearless sense of adventure, rarely turning down an experience and often creating stories that would be retold with laughter for decades. From an early age, he looked up to his father, Dale Ewing, whose work on tower cranes left a lasting impression on him. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a tower crane operator where he contributed to many influential projects throughout Colorado, leaving his mark on the Denver skyline.
In his 20s, his mother introduced him to the love of his life and better half, Liz (Able) Ewing, and they quickly fell in love. He married Liz on July 7, 2007. Ryan was a devoted husband and loved Liz more than life itself. Throughout their 18 year marriage, the two of them had many adventures together.
Family was an important part of Ryan’s life. He loved his parents, sister, nieces and nephews deeply and had great affection for the Ables whom he loved as his own. Ryan was a devoted friend that could always encourage a laugh and would show up for his community when it mattered the most. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with the “Ride or Die” group and forever touched the lives of numerous other friends.
Those who knew Ryan will remember him for his larger-than-life, boisterous personality that brought light into any room he walked in. He had a zeal for life that led him to truly live each moment of his life to the fullest.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Liz Ewing, father, Dale Ewing, and sister, Melissa (Ewing) Daniel. He was preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne (Altepeter) Ewing, uncle, Mark Ewing, and honorary sons, Donnovan Leeder and Cory Greenfield.
