Ryan Ledbetter, age 25, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2025. Born on March 24, 2000, Ryan was a beloved son, fiancé, brother, and friend whose warmth, humor, and quiet strength touched the lives of many.

Ryan was engaged to the love of his life, Sydney Johnson, with whom he shared over six and a half wonderful years. The two first met at Planet Fitness, forming a bond that only grew stronger with time. They were planning to be married on May 8, 2026. Together, they shared countless laughs, dreams, and memories-often talking about going hiking, and sometimes even actually going. One of their most cherished adventures was their first trip to Cumberland Gap, where they stayed up until midnight just to witness the magical moonbow.

Ryan was the cherished son of Dana and Shane Gross and Ronald Ledbetter. A 2018 graduate of Simon Kenton High School, he went on to work as a dedicated dental assistant at the Dental Center of Florence, where he brought compassion and kindness to every patient he met.

When he was younger, Ryan loved going to Destin, Florida with his family. He had a deep love for the beach and the joy those family vacations brought him.

A lover of video games, Ryan found joy in the small comforts of life-playing with his cats, Momma and Baby, and spending quality time with his family. He had a calm spirit, a warm heart, and a dry wit that brought smiles to those around him.

Ryan is survived by his fiancée, Sydney Johnson; his parents, Dana and Shane Gross and Ronald Ledbetter; his brothers, Shane McWilliams, Justin Gross, Brandon, Corey Gross (Madison Turnbull), and Joshua Gross (Karina); his sister, Brittany Dailey (Thomas); his future in-laws, Matt Johnson and Heather Rabe; and his future sisters-in-law, Bailey and Molly Johnson. He is also remembered by extended family, friends, coworkers, and all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Carol Goins.

Ryan's presence in our lives was a gift. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Chamber and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051 on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 5pm-7pm. Service will begin at 7pm.
