Ryan Redlinger Obituary

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ryan Lyle Redlinger, who left this world far too soon on April 18, 2025, at the age of 34 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on January 30, 1991, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Ryan lived a life full of laughter, loyalty, and love.
Ryan proudly served as an EO2 in the United States Navy. It wasn't just about duty for him; it was about purpose, pride, and being part of something bigger than himself. His dedication, work ethic, and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who served alongside him. He carried that same work ethic and heart into everything he did-whether it was helping a buddy move, fixing something without being asked, or diving headfirst into a game of Mario Kart with his kids.
But more than his career, Ryan will be remembered for the light he brought into every room. He was the kind of guy who could make you laugh even on your worst day. His jokes, quick wit, and playful sarcasm made him unforgettable. He was a Nintendo-loving, card-playing, joke-cracking soul who never missed a chance to turn the ordinary into something fun. Ryan was the kind of guy who could make you laugh so hard you forgot why you were sad in the first place. He was the funny one in every room-not just telling jokes, but being able to make someone else feel better and smile. His laugh? Totally infectious. The kind that echoed and lingered and made everything feel lighter. Ryan loved card games, music, Nintendo marathons, and a good amusement park trip-even though he was secretly terrified of heights (but hey, he still planned to skydive because that's just who he was-brave.
Football wasn't really his thing, but he watched it religiously for one reason: his wife, Yvelle. He cheered when she cheered, and even though his dad's side of the family bled purple and gold for the Vikings, Ryan proudly wore a Steelers jersey on game day-just to stir the pot. What mattered most to Ryan was his family. He was the kind of father who showed up-at games, at practices, in quiet moments at home. He took immense pride in watching his kids play baseball and softball, and nothing made him happier than being out on the field with them, cheering them from the sidelines at Mason, Fiona, and Vincent's games. He always showed up happy and proud for his children. He taught his daughter, Fiona, how to ride a bike and really enjoyed taking his kids swimming. His voice was loud, strong, and unwavering. He was a loving and fiercely supportive father whose personality always reflected the best in his family and people who surrounded him.
Ryan leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Yvelle; his daughter Fiona; his son Mason; and his beloved stepchildren Vince and Xavier. He also leaves his parents, Todd and Anna Redlinger; his sister Trisha; his brother Aaron:-along with countless friends and shipmates who became family over the years.
Ryan lived with laughter, loved without limits, and left us with memories we'll carry forever. He was one of a kind, and he will never be forgotten. Ryan's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. Whether you knew him as a husband, a dad, a brother, a son, a shipmate, or a friend, you knew someone genuine, hilarious, and fiercely loyal. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved-often with a joke in one hand and a game controller in the other.
His time with us was far too short, but the mark he left is deep and lasting. We'll remember the early morning ball games, the sound of laughter in the kitchen, the sarcastic one-liners at just the right moment, and the unwavering way he showed up for the people he loved.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel, Virginia Beach, VA. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, we'll raise a glass and celebrate Ryan's incredible life at Back Bay Farmhouse, just the way he'd want-surrounded by laughter, stories, and people who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Ryan by spending time with your loved ones, showing up for each other, and maybe cracking a good story when someone needs it most-just like he would have done.
Rest easy, Ryan. You were deeply loved, and you always will be.
