Ryan Lee Smith, 53, of Helena, Alabama, passed away on October 12, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Glasgow, and Tucker and Vora Lee Smith.
He is survived by his parents, Buford and Lynn Smith; his daughters, Halle and Kara Vines; and his granddaughter, Hazel Polanco. He is also survived by his grandmother, Margaret Glasgow; his brother, Brent (Molly) Smith; his nieces, Bradleigh (Nick) Heady, Abigail and Caroline Smith; his great-nephew, Sullivan Heady, many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, and by a special family member, Gracie (Logan) Watts.
Ryan was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and unwavering love for those closest to him. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special, and his laughter and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Since childhood, he has enjoyed Alabama football and card games, two of his favorite pastimes that brought him joy and connection with others.
Visitation will be held at Southcrest Baptist Church on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. The church is located at 4317 South Shades Crest Road, Bessemer, Alabama 35022. Joel Frederick and Scott Bush will be officiating
