Ryan Joshua Ulibarri, 38, passed away in his home on September 14, 2025.
He was born February 27, 1987, in
Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ramon and Lindy Ulibarri. He grew up in Sandy, graduating from Valley High as valedictorian of his class, an achievement he was extremely proud of. He continued into a career of customer service, becoming a department manager over restaurant care at GrubHub, a job that took him to his favorite place, Chicago. He fell in love with the architecture, the people, the food, and of course the sports. Go Cubs Go! (with a Chicago dog in hand)
Ryan met his best friend and love of his life, Michelle, in 2008, and they were inseparable from the moment they met. They were officially married September 27, 2018, though Ryan always considered them married from the beginning.
Ryan was an avid lover of all things Star Wars, Darth Vader, and LEGO. He proudly displayed his collection in his office and was excited to show everyone anytime he could. He was always ready to discuss and argue which was better, the Force or the Dark Side. Ryan was strong-willed, passionate, and opinionated: always willing to engage in a spirited debate with friends and family. His sarcasm and humor was commonly employed in giving the people around him a hard time, and he never missed the perfect moment to add a witty retort that would have the people around him in stitches laughing.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Sprouse; father, Ramon Ulibarri; mother-in-law, Susan Sprouse; father-in-law, Steve Sprouse; siblings, Rebecca Valencia; Ramon Jr. (Angela) Ulibarri; Amber (Peter) Wolsey; Valerie (Matt) Hudgens; Cameron Ulibarri; Melissa (Ryan) Parker; nieces and nephews, Nick (Brittany) Valencia, Ramon III Ulibarri, Josephine Ulibarri, Selena Talbot, PJ Wolsey, Veronique Wolsey, Trey Wolsey, Orrick Parker, Sophia Gray, Olivia Gray, Nova Hudgens. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lindy, and nephew, Charlie.
A viewing and celebration of life will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, 6-9pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E South Temple, in
Salt Lake City, Utah.

INVICTUS
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole.
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
~ William Ernest Henley
