CHRISTOPHER ANTHONY BELLAMY
1966-2026
Park City, UTChris Bellamy, who was much beloved, died suddenly and unexpectedly on January 29, 2026. He was 59 years old.
Chris was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Esther Jean Anderson and Anthony Rodney Bellamy. At only 17 months of age, his father, an Army Major, was killed in Vietnam during the 1968 Tet Offensive. His mother moved to Boise, Idaho and then a year later to
Salt Lake City, Utah where she married Ralph Charles Wakley, his devoted and loving dad. Chris was three and a half years old when he was adopted, and he and his dad, Ralph, have been inseparable ever since.
At an early age, Chris had a spunky energetic personality and was always on the go, and never took the focus off of the world around him. He had an adventuresome spirit and enjoyed playing jokes, a trait he never lost. Chris was an avid swimmer at the Salt Lake Country Club League for the Sports Mall, becoming an expert in the backstroke and making many long-time friendships. After moving to
Park City, Utah in 1971 Chris graduated from Park City High School in 1984 where he played football, basketball and tennis. He went on to graduate from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in International Economics. While at the University of Utah, he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity where he made life-long friends.
In 1989, Chris met his loving wife, Brenda Bingham, whom he later married in 1993. With a deep love for the mountains, they returned to Summit Park in Park City where they have resided for the past 30 years. They were blessed with a loving son, Andrew "Andy" Christopher Bellamy, in 2007.
Chris was super intelligent and hardworking. He found out quickly that he was his own best boss. With a love for acquiring real estate, he and his wife, Brenda, began acquiring their own real estate investment properties and started their own commercial property management company. Chris adored his son, Andy, and was always a supportive and loving father. He shared his passion and love of cars with Andy and they had a very special bond working on many "truck" projects; anything with a motor.
Chris remained a longtime resident of Summit County, but his three favorite places were McCall, Idaho, his mother's home, where he enjoyed visiting the family cabin, visiting the Uintah Basin where they have a recreational home, and Southern Utah camping with family and friends. Chris also had a deep love of horses and dogs and he had many beloved animals during his life, most recently "Denali" who never left his side.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Bingham Bellamy; his adored son, Andy Christopher Bellamy; his mother, Esther Jean Wakley and father, Ralph Charles Wakley; also survived by his mother-in-law, Lorena Bingham, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished longtime friends. Chris was loved by all of those he met and would do anything for anyone.
The family plans a memorial open house on February 28, 2026 from 2:00-4:00pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 1300 South 2350 East,
Salt Lake City, Utah 84108.
