Sadie A. Crookshanks, 89, of Davenport, IA, passed away, Friday August 16th, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024 at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 19th, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sadie was born on February 12, 1935, in Lockbridge, WV, the daughter of Leona (Berry) and Kellis Cox. She married Raymond D. Crookshanks on December 29, 1951, in MacArthur, WV. Sadie was a dedicated mother and homemaker, she was the jack of all trades. She was an ordained minister and a master seamstress. Sadie loved cooking, baking, and making candies. She also liked gardening and playing Gospel music on the piano. Sadie was a member of the North Pine Church of God in Davenport, IA.
Survivors include her children, Penny (Chuck) Thornburg, Kim (Mick) Tate, David (Rhonda) Crookshanks, Gary (Sandie) Crookshanks, and Kevin Crookshanks; 14 grandchildren; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sheila, grandson Joshua Crookshanks, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.
