Sadie Pope Guess, 85, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her residence.
Born Sunday, August 20, 1939, in Gibson County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. Pope and the late Aslee Stafford Pope Walker.

Sadie was a dedicated employee of Dyersburg Fabrics, where she worked faithfully for twenty-five years. During her time there, she formed lasting friendships that stood the test of time and became a meaningful part of her life. She was a devoted member of Phillips Street Church of Christ, Sadie found joy and strength in her faith.

Family was at the heart of everything Sadie did. She treasured the time spent with her loved ones, whether during everyday moments or special gatherings filled with laughter, storytelling, and memory-making. Her warm presence brought people together and made those times all the more special. Her family will remember her for her warm heart, joyful spirit and the love she gave so freely.

Sadie also had a spirited side and found great joy in dancing. Whether it was a simple sway to music or a lively step among friends, dancing was one of her favorite ways to express happiness and celebrate life.

Funeral services for Mrs. Guess will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Mr. Andy Brewer. Interment will follow in Yorkville, Cemetery in Yorkville, Tennessee. Visitation will he held on Tuesday from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five sons, Anthony Couch of Hollow Rock, Tennessee, Randy Couch (Lisa) of Yorkville, Tennessee, Charles "Chuck" Cowart of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Greg Cowart (Connie) of Jettenbach, Germany and Michael Cowart (Tracy) of Milton, Florida; one step-daugher, Donna Kay Nims of Fredrick, Maryland; three sisters Patsy McKnight of Rutherford, Tennessee, Wanda McClain of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Paulette Wilmouth (Ray) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; one brother, Tim Pope (Linda) of Summerville, South Carolina and she was "Granny" to her eleven grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jeanie Cowart Coker and the father of her children, George Cowart.
Honoring Mrs. Guess as pallbearers will be Jeremy Couch, Luke Grant, Jeff Yarbrough, Tim Pope, Justin Scott and Kenny Sandlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Kassie Scott, Jessie Sandlin, Kaitlin Williams, Belinda Cowart and Jasmine Connelly.
