Mrs. Shurling was born in Washington County, Georgia on July 5, 1937, to the late Lewis Hayes McCoy and Julia Snider McCoy. She worked for the Shirt Factory in Sandersville, McGaw Laboratories and retired as a Paraprofessional with the Baldwin County Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Shurling, a brother Lewis Hayes McCoy, Jr. and her sister Aileen Rozer. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Roxanne Dixon (Bobby) of Gordon, three grandchildren Michelle Spell (D.J.), Marcia Osborne (Greg), Smokey Dixon (Ashley) and 7 great grandchildren.
Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
