Saing Hy Taing, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025 at the age of 80. Born in Cambodia to Chinese parents, Saing lived a life of courage, sacrifice, and love. He overcame immense hardships throughout his life. Wanting to protect his family and give them a future beyond the Khmer Rouge, he bravely brought himself, his beloved wife, and their children to the United States, despite not knowing any English. His hard work and determination created a foundation where his family could thrive and experience the American dream. Saing worked many jobs throughout his life, as a custodian, a chef, and even as a restaurant owner. No matter how hard the day was, he always made sure to care for his family. When he was blessed with grandkids, he was a doting grandpa. After school and work, he made dinner for his loved ones, picked up his grandchildren from school, and greeted them with a snack when they got home. He was a constant and loving presence in his grandchildren's lives, helping to raise them with both love and wisdom. Who they are today is, in many ways, a reflection of the influence he had on them. Saing shared over 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Heng Eam Ear. They were each other's only love and built a partnership that stood as an example of resilience, loyalty, and enduring affection. She preceded him in death last year, but their love story will continue to inspire generations. He is survived by his children: Eng, Ly, Pheng, and Imly. He also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Billy, Juliann, Jimmy, Taylor, Matthew, Andrew, Allyonna, Melanie, and Olivia. Each of them carries a piece of his legacy of love, sacrifice, and family above all else. Saing will forever be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his quiet acts of love, and the sacrifices he made so that his children and grandchildren could live a life of freedom and opportunity. His memory will remain a guiding light for all who were blessed to know him.
