Sally Blanchard, a woman whose zest for life was as infectious as the twinkle in her eye, passed away on August 7, 2025. Born in Worcester, Mass, on July 19, 1944, Sally's life was a vibrant tapestry of love, creativity, and adventure. She departed from this world surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy that could brighten even the dimmest of rooms.
Known for her quick wit and sparkling eyes, she was the beloved wife of Peter Blanchard, with whom she shared a love that could have inspired a thousand rom-coms. She was the cherished mother of Beth Talman and Jennifer Viola, and her expanded family of Scott Blanchard, Lisa Feldman, Michael Blanchard, Ian Blanchard, Amy Moody along with her sister Linda Brindle. She loved her seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and enjoyed sharing her love and sparkle with each of them. In her life, Sally was a wonderful housewife and a fantastic decorator, turning every space she touched into a warm, welcoming haven. Her flair for design was matched only by her culinary skills, and her knitting needles were always clicking away creating items that channeled her love to family. Her passion for antiques and art was only rivaled by the joy she found in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's smiles and giggles.
Sally's passport was as well-stamped as her sense of humor. She loved traveling, always ready to embark on a new adventure, whether it was across the globe or simply over a state line to spend time with family. She and Peter found their way to all seven continents and made many lasting friendships through their travels. Described by those around her as a talented artist, Sally pursued sculpting, painting, metalworks, jewelry design and many other mediums throughout her life. She cherished a day of rock painting with the grandchildren and helped us all to see the beauty in so many things. Sally loved her time playing cards and games with family and friends. She feverishly learned new games and eagerly shared them with others. Her fierce competitive nature outwitted the best of players and brought laughter and enjoyment to many.
The memories Sally created will continue to echo with laughter and love. Her story was one of joy and boundless passion. Sally Blanchard, the woman who lived life like it was a never-ending love story will be deeply missed and forever remembered. She and Peter sang to each other many times "I LOVE YOU A BUSHEL AND A PECK" and they meant every word. Sally would want us all to end our days with a "hug around the neck" for those we love.
