Sally Lea Dickerson, 76, beloved mother and friend, passed away Friday morning, September 5, 2025, in Granbury, Texas.
A celebration of Sally's life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 19, 2025, at Wiley Funeral Center, 420 Highway, 377 East in Granbury, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Born March 30, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, to the late Wayne and Inez Shepherd, Sally was a woman of immense grit and an adventurous spirit. At 17, she bravely ventured out into the world to find her own way, and through her travels and experiences, she forged a life and family built on resilience and strength. Her resilient spirit was evident in her long and dedicated career as a home-health professional, where she cared for countless others with unwavering kindness. As a longstanding member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she was a woman of deep faith who put her trust in her Lord Jesus Christ. Sally will be remembered for her honesty and her guiding principle, "Always tell the truth." Most of all, Sally cherished her family and the time she spent with them.
Sally is survived by her sons, Tony Shepherd, Ryan Dickerson, and son-in-law and loving caretaker, Elias Viana; her horses-Dreamer, Stompy & Miss Frances; and her faithful dogs-Hurry-Scurry, Hank, Ivy, Fred & Henry.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Shepherd; and by her aunt and uncle, Frances and Tom Hass.
