Sally Gaskin Evans, 68, of Gray Court and wife of Thomas "Tommy" R. Evans, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Born in Joanna on October 25, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Redick R.T. and Frances Willis Gaskin. Sally dedicated many years of her professional life to the Whitten Center, where her commitment to helping others was a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering empathy. Outside of her professional life, Sally had a lifelong love for volleyball. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was evident to all who knew her. Sally also found solace and expression through painting, creating beautiful works of art that reflected her vibrant spirit and creative soul. Sally's warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Kylee Evans Burke (T.J.) and Chase Evans; grandchildren, Braydon and Braylee Burke; brother, Randy Gaskin (Karen); sister-in-law, Tammy Tollison (Russell); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a niece, Amanda Gaskin; aunt, Gladys Willis; and a sister-in-law, Jean Christian.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Monty Osborne with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
