Robinson Funeral Home - MelroseSally Wallace Frank of Malden, MA passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. She was 88 years of age. Born in and raised in Needham, MA, the daughter of Mary Stigler and Barton Stuart Wallace, Sally graduated from Needham High School in the class of 1955. She spent most of her adult life in Melrose, MA, where she raised her family.
She received her Associate of Science Degree from Bunker Hill Community College in the mid-80s and worked for AccounTemps until the early 2000s, turning down multiple offers for full time work, favoring summers off instead. Gifted with numbers and smart with money, she served as Treasurer of the Michael Festa Campaign Committee from 1986 through 2006, and for the Melrose Democratic City Committee throughout the 90s.
In 1995, tired of having to drive out of town for fresh produce, she started the Melrose Farmer's Market, which was renamed Sally Frank's Farmer's Market in 2005. In her later years, she and her sister volunteered at the Melrose Humane Society.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Frank and her sister, Carol Orr. She is survived by her sons Calvin Frank (Britten Kilduff) of Malden and Adam Frank (Danielle Forbes) of Somerville, her three grandchildren Geneva Frank of Medford, Cameron Frank of Georgetown and Rayna Frank of Melrose, and her beloved cat, Stanley.
Those close to her will remember her bone-dry wit, her adventures to the Caribbean and beyond, and her love of Willie Nelson and cheap American beer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather in honor of Sally's life during Visiting Hours at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Melrose, on Sunday, October 5 from 2pm to 4pm, with a brief celebration of Sally's life at 4pm.
Sally once said, "When I die, if anyone gets it in their head that they want to send flowers, tell them to do me a favor and give them to someone who's still living." Those wishing to pay tribute to Sally's life may want to take those words to heart and bring some flowers to an older person who could use a lift. Contributions in Sally's memory may also be made to the Melrose Humane Society, PO Box 760668, Melrose, MA. 02176 or https://melrosehumanesociety.org/ or the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/manh.
