Sally J. Kordus, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born on March 18, 1951, to the late James and Alverna Andersen as one of ten children.
Sally had a passion for music that was impossible to miss—her love for Elvis and Johnny Mathis was well known. She had a special place in her heart for birdwatching, especially for the beautiful cardinals that visited her yard, and she found immense joy in feeding all the wildlife that graced her home. Sally also doted on her beloved cat, Willow, and had a love for ice cream.
Most importantly, Sally treasured spending time with her family. She was an amazing mom, aunt and grandma. Her warm spirit will be deeply missed by all.
A woman of strong Catholic faith, Sally found strength and solace in her beliefs, which guided her through life.
Sally is survived by her daughters: Shelly (John) Wierzchowski and Holly (Richard Vandehei Jr) Van Straten; grandchildren: Mandy Van Straten, Matthew Van Straten, Savannah Van Straten, Ali Van Straten, Maddy Van Straten, Emily Wierzchowski and Laney Van Straten; great-grandchildren Kyleigh, Nevaeh and Sullivan; siblings: Andy (Alice) Anderson, Carol (the late Norb) Van Hulst, Susie (the late Tom) Burch, Steve (Judy) Anderson, Jim (Lynn) Anderson, Lynne (Dan) Peters; dear nephew Michael, as well as numerous other nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as sisters: Joanne Doolittle, Mary Dumas and Jamie Wolter.
Family and friends may gather for a prayer service on Wednesday, October 29, at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, beginning at 12:00pm with Deacon Bernie Terrien officiating. There will be no formal visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at Cady Cemetery in De Pere.
