Sally Anne Long, 88, of Sedalia, passed away on August 22, 2025, at her home in Sedalia. She was born on November 24, 1936, in London, England, the daughter of Patrick Stride and Nivienno (Carter) Stride, who preceded her in death.
On December 20, 1966, in Box Elder, South Dakota, she was united in marriage to James L. Long Sr., who preceded her in death in April 2011.
Sally graduated from High School in London, England, and moved to the United States, where she later became a naturalized citizen. She spent her whole life raising and handling show dogs with her husband Jim.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri Casto (Kelley) of Sedalia, Diane Rogers of Reno, Nevada; two sons, Dean Rogers of Reno Nevada, and James Long Jr. of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Jennifer Casto, and James Long III of Sedalia, Marcella Long of Garland, Texas, Jordan Long and Jillian Long of Chicago, Illinois, and one great-grandchild, Corbyn Shelledy of Sedalia.
In addition to her husband and parents, Sally was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Seibert.
It was Sally's wish that there be no services held at this time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
