Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors- Milford on May 16, 2023.
Sally Anne Reed, of Milford, passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2023. She was 83 years old. She was born August 1st, 1939 as Sally Anne Everts to Jane and Chester Everts. A couple of years later, her sister, Sandy, was born. Sadly, at a young age, their mom passed away. Sally's grandparents, Margaret and Carl Nachtigal, helped raise her.
Sally lived in Farmington, Michigan with dad and her sister. At about the age of 15, she met a handsome man named David at a small church; she was so shy her sister, Sandy, had to call Dave to get them connected. At one point during their courting, Sally moved to Florida and lived with her grandparents. When Sally and Dave got engaged, she moved back to Michigan and lived with Dave's parents. They were married July 18th, 1959. Dave was in the Air Force and most of that time he was stationed in
Columbus, Ohio. They had three children together Terry Jane born on April 9th, 1960, Gerald David April 21st, 1962 and Cynthia Jo April 21st, 1968.
After Dave left the service, they moved back to Michigan and eventually settled in Livonia, then Milford. Over the years, Sally was loved by many of the neighborhood kids that Cindi grew up with...sometimes she was like a second mom. Ear piercing, hard candy and cinnamon toothpicks were some of the great memories.
Her artistic and creative endeavors included painting, cross-stitching, crocheting and knitting. At Christmas time she enjoyed creating handmade Christmas cards for a large number of family and friends who looked forward to seeing what new design she would send. In addition to Christmas cards, she crafted the beloved known ceramic trees.
Once an avid bowler, golf became her lifelong passion. Ladies leagues, church leagues, couples leagues with her beloved husband, Dave, she played them all. Maggie Valley with her sisters and good friend, Marion were her favorite golf adventures.
Books, books and more books, a real good mystery was her favorite, especially James Patterson. Her passion for crime spilled over into her television programs. Being an avid reader, she was treated like royalty at the Milford Library.
Traveling adventures whether it be tenting or in an RV across the states on many different occasions provided many laughs throughout her lifetime. Winters in Arizona, grandchildren, family and friends brought many days of joy throughout retirement.
Daughter of the late Chester and Jane Everts, Sally is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Reed; children, Terry (Edward) Bishop, Gerald (Sue) Reed, and Cynthia Reed; grandchildren, Sarah Anne (Martin) Bishop, Libby (Eric) Akers, and Bill (Greg) Lewis; great granddaughters, Samantha and Harper; siblings, Sandy (Bruce) Crocker, Sue Everts, Mary Ellen Chernenkoff, Linda (Jim) McCammon, and Debbie Reed; also many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
