Sally A. Snook, age 85, of Lacon Illinois, formerly Laura Illinois passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Lacon Rehab and Nursing.
Sally was born on May 29, 1939 in Dekalb, Illinois to Homer and Edna E (Bowen) Eddy and adopted by step-mother Marion "Pinky" (Krahenbuhl) Eddy. She was married to Perry "Pete"Camp, Sr. and then later to Weldon "Nub" Riggen.
Surviving are her children, Perry Raymond (Jill) Camp Jr. of Dunlap IL, Tina Maria Menefee & Marianne Baggs of Chandler AZ, Nancy Jo (Joseph) Newell of Washington IL, Betty Jean (Jeffrey)Reason of Kimble TN ; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Brothers Jay Eddy, Homer Eddy Jr. of Lacon, IL, Tom (Sandy) Eddy of Peoria, IL, Michael Eddy of Peoria, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sally was a beautician and operated her own beauty salon in Laura for over 20 years. She was also a Tupperware & Avon rep and sold Home Interiors. Sally loved art and she enjoyed painting, writing stories, drawing and quilting. She was a fabulous baker and created numerous wedding & birthday cakes for many years. She also enjoyed corresponding with friends. Sally was a member of the Monica, Laura, & Lacon United Methodist Churchs.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 12pm at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with visitation held two hours prior, beginning at 10am. Burial of ashes will immediately follow at Princeville Cemetery. With a celebration of life at Wildey's Country Diner at 2pm. Memorials in Sally's name may be made to the Chaddock Children's Home Quincy IL or the ARK Lacon IL.
