Sally Stack Obituary
Sally Lorraine Stack (née Glasco), 88, of Sheffield Lake, formerly of Westlake, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 7, 1937, in Youngstown, Ohio, Sally was the daughter of Frank and Lucinda (Arnaut) Glasco. She graduated from Liberty High School and earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Ohio University, where she met her husband, Ronald. They were married for 44 years until his passing. Her life's work was serving vulnerable children as a supervisor at Lorain County Children's Services.
Sally had a deep love for the water. She cherished her time living in San Diego near the ocean during the late 1970s and later found joy in her home that overlooked Lake Erie. She liked walking the shore looking for lake glass, and tending to flowers and her yard. Elegant, determined, entrepreneurial, and deeply private, Sally carried a quiet strength and sharp eye for detail. She had a talent for making her surroundings beautiful. She loved to cook, entertain, and was known for being an unbeatable Scrabble player.
She is survived by her loving children: Katherine A. Stack (Jason Sherman), David J. Stack (Natasha Troicky), and Susan S. Nye; her grandchildren: Allison S. Russell, Devin S. Russell, Rory Nye, Maddie Nye, and Lincoln Nye; and her devoted caregiver and friend, Mavis Acheanpong.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Ronald N. Stack; and her son-in-law, Charles Edward "Chuck" Nye.
A private celebration of Sally's life will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sally's name may be made to The Stack/Nye Family Foundation through the Community West Foundation.
