Mass of Christian Burial for Sally Suzanne (Sherrill) Switzer was held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed at Reed Cemetery in Myra. Rosary and Vigil were held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Scott Funeral Home in Muenster.
Sally was born on June 29, 1958 in Muenster, Texas. Her parents were Charles and Marilyn Sherrill. Sally was the middle of three sisters. Her older sister is MaryAnn Huston of Myra, Tx and her younger sister was Vickie Hess of Myra, Tx. Sally's niece is Robin Dickerson of Myra, Tx. Sally married Charlie Switzer on May 30, 1981. Their children are Charlie Sue Andrews and husband Ronnie Andrews of Myra, Tx, Chelsie Balthrop and husband Randy Balthrop of Rosston, Tx, Clarrissa Switzer and Carlos Saavedra of Justin, Tx, Devon Andrews and Cassandra Dickerson. Sally has two grandchildren, Luke and Laynie Andrews.
Sally Grew up in Myra, Tx and Graduated from Era High School. Sally was always a hard worker. She volunteered for the Myra Fire Department for many years and was known for fighting fires, even when she was very pregnant.
She had a bright spirit that attracted people to her because she was fun, kind and quick-witted.
Sally had so many friends. A lot of whom she met while working at Weber. Sally dedicated 39 years to Weber. She was on the Code Blue Team and moved her way up to represent the company all over the world. During that time, she was able to travel to over 15 countries.
As friends came by to visit the family, they shared stories of going with Sally to garage sells, movie nights, dancing, and late night Wal-Mart adventures.
Sally was caring and loving, and she didn't know a stranger. She had a very giving heart. She would give you her last dollar, the shirt off her back and even let you live with her if you needed a place to stay.
She was a second mom to so many. You never saw her without kids nearby. Even people who didn't know Sally very well, knew that about her.
Her grandkids, Luke and Laynie, were Sally's pride and joy. As we were looking through pictures, pictures of Sally with Luke and Laynie stole the show. Sally's face lite up when her grandkids were the topic of discussion.
Sally loved the water. She constantly wanted to take all the kids to the pool and lake. There were vacations to Pensacola, Destin, Orange beach, Arkansas, Kingsland, and several trips to Lake Texoma.
Sally passed on March 11, 2025. She is now in the arms of Jesus. She is no longer in pain. She is jumping for joy, laughing and dancing again.
Come to me all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
