Biography: Sally Ruth Villines Linebarger, 82, died September 7. She was born to Rev. Floyd G. Villines, Jr and Hazel Carlton Villines on February 4, 1942, in Fayetteville, AR. The daughter of a Methodist minister, she grew up in several North Arkansas communities and graduated from Morrilton High School where she met her future husband, James D. Linebarger. They both graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and married on September 1, 1963. Most of Sally's adult life was spent in San Francisco, CA where she was Assistant Managing Editor of the Western Journal of Medicine, and where Jim was an architect. They lived in Sonoma, CA until Jim's death in 2009 following which Sally moved to Little Rock to be near family.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband Jim and brothers, FG "Buddy" Villines and Dr. Gary Wayne Villines. Sally is survived by nieces Meredith Villines and daughter Hazel, Portland, OR, Corey (Charles) Brooks and sons Carter and Camren, Little Rock, AR and Holly Villines, Fayetteville, AR and by nephews Jackson and Taylor (Kate) Villines, Fayetteville, AR. Other surviving family members include Jerry and Ann Linebarger, Fayetteville, AR, Bill and Jackie Linebarger, Katy, TX, Beverly Villines, Little Rock and Linda Fletcher, Little Rock as well as her dear friends Nila Nichols, Berkeley, CA, and the Alvarez, Barragan, and Guizar families, Benton, AR.
A service will be planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
