Sally White Obituary

Sally Ann White, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Hudson, Ohio, on September 29, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 18, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, Sally's life was a testament to her unwavering kindness, love, and humor that touched everyone she met.

Sally's journey began as the loving daughter of her late parents, Robert and Mary Lewis, and the sibling to Nora, Rosie, Pat, Jack, Bob, Mary Helen, and Bea, who all preceded her in death. She grew up in Cleveland, where she and her siblings loved going to Euclid Beach Park. As an adult, Sally and her husband Harry moved to Chesterland. Despite the tragic loss of her husband in 1971, Sally's resilient spirit shone through as she re-entered the workforce, bringing joy and warmth to those around her. Her tenure as a lunch lady at West Geauga High School was fondly remembered by the many students whose days she brightened with a smile and a kind word. Later, Sally became a beloved figure at the McDonald's in Mayfield and Chesterland, where for over 30 years, she served not just meals but moments of happiness to customers and colleagues alike. Her grandchildren, Nicole, Kelly, Shannon, Eric, Paul, and Sunny were the lucky recipients of endless Happy Meals, complete with the cherished toys, all thanks to their doting grandmother.

Sally's legacy is carried on by her devoted daughters, Linda, Mary, and Debbie, who were the center of her world. They, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will forever cherish the memories of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love knew no bounds.

Upon her well-earned retirement, Sally found a second family at the Senior Center in Chardon, where her knack for making friends turned acquaintances into companions. Her presence at the center was a source of laughter and camaraderie, and she quickly became a beloved figure within the community.

Sally's faith as a Catholic guided her throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort during times of joy and sorrow. She lived her faith through her actions, embodying the love and grace that she believed in so deeply.

A passionate sports fan, Sally's enthusiasm for her favorite teams-the Guardians, Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, and Arizona Diamondbacks-was infectious. She could often be found cheering on her teams, her spirit and energy sometimes exceeding that of some of the players on the field or court.

Kind, loving, and funny-these words only begin to capture the essence of Sally. Her ability to find joy and humor in life's everyday moments, to extend compassion to all, and to love unconditionally will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 116 South St., Chardon, OH. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Parish, 401 North Street, Chardon, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow mass at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Rd, Chardon.

Arrangements are entrusted to Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.burrservice.com.
