Salvatore J. Coraci

Salvatore J. Coraci, 91, of Monroe Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Sal was born and raised in the South Beach section of Staten Island, New York. He then moved to New Dorp after marrying the love of his life, Carmela (Millie) Marcello, where they lived for 64 years and raised their five children before moving to New Jersey in 2022. He retired from the NYC Transit Authority in 1993 after 25 years of service where Sal had worked as a Third Rail Foreman for many years before being promoted to Supervisor. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a skilled tradesman who helped countless people with home improvement projects. Sal was also a talented baseball player in his youth and was a loyal NY Mets fan. He was an avid reader, a history buff, and loved to work on crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Sal enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He and his wife visited many destinations, but their favorite was Aruba where they visited every year for 34 years. They were also active members of the South Beach Arrochar Friendship Club for many years.
Predeceased by his parents, Pietro and Saveria Coraci; his older brother, Andrew Coraci; and his grandson, Patrick J. Parker. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carmela (Millie) Coraci; his children, Catherine Grimaldi and her husband John, Lisa Meraglia and her husband Bob, Diane Jones and her husband Jim, Salvatore Coraci and his wife Danielle, and Patricia Parker and her husband Frank; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Lauren, Bobby, Adrianna, James, Caitlyn, Jenn, Patrick, Julie, Thomas, Allison, Alyssa, Samantha; and his great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Mila, and Noah.
Private cremation was entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home. There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, on Friday, October 6th, at Immaculate Conception Church, 23 Manalapan Road, Spotswood, NJ, followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Sal's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
