Salvatore "Sal" J. Migliardi of Orangeburg, NY, passed away on March 31, 2025. Born in the Yorkville section of Manhattan on February 19, 1929 to Rocco and Florence (nee Magill) Migliardi, Sal grew up on East 74th St. surrounded by extended family and regular Sunday Italian family celebrations. He attended St. Jean the Baptiste Grammar School and graduated from St. Ann's Academy High Schoolin 1947. After graduation he began working at Citibank (First National City Bank at the time) as a clerk. He proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 40th Infantry Division in 1951-1952 during the Korean War, earning The Combat Infantry Badge. He returned home on Christmas Eve 1952. He met the love of his life, Vera Tolomer, in 1954 while working at Citibank and they married May 5, 1956. They moved from the Bronx to West Nyack in 1962 where theyraised their daughters, Laurie and Jeanne. Sal worked for Citibank managing branches all around New York City and the Hudson Valley for a total of 47 years until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed an active life which included bowling with a neighborhood league as well as the Knights of Columbus, participated in the Citibank softball league and took up golf later in life and attended many outings. He also was a member of the ROMEO Club (retired old men eating out) which included Monday morning breakfast at Pancakes Plus for over 20 years and a second ROMEO Club of former Citibankers which included lunches and afternoon Poker games. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Anthony's and later, St. Aedan's Churches. Sal enjoyed his life to the fullest but celebrated the simple pleasures above all else. He was an avid sports fan, a lifelong NY Giants football fan through thick and thin, claiming to bleed blue even at the worst of times. He was also a NY Giants baseball fan and his favorite player was Willie Mays. Sal and his cousin (also named Sal after their grandfather) would attend Sunday afternoon games at the Polo Grounds for 75 cents and that included subway fare. Sal became a NY Mets fan when his belovedGiants moved to San Francisco. This clashed with Vera's NY Yankee roots but they agreed to disagree. Sal was honored by the Mets at Citifield as Veteran of the Game in 2021 which was one of his greatest thrills. Sal loved to cook, he loved to argue about nothing thinking he was always right, and he was very tech savvy for his age.He connected with long lost friends on Facebook, did Wordle every morning and was active in a Family Fantasy Football League. He was always cheerful especially when enjoying his Dry Rob Roy with a twist or a pint of Guinness. He is predeceased by his wife, Vera, in 2017 and his first born grandson Nicholas Levenduski in 2023 as well as his sister Jac in 1982. He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Levenduski (Nick Zingaro) of Roebling, NJ, Jeanne Gagliardi (Ron) of New City, NY, grandchildren, Renee Levenduski (Greg), Matt Levenduski (Stephanie), April Gagliardi-Loeb (Alec), Daniel Gagliardi (Rebecca) and great grandchildren, Seth Levenduski and Daisy Levenduski. He is also survived by nephew, Michael Sotire and niece, Marilyn Smolinsky as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and close friends and neighbors who have provided endless support to him in the years especially since Vera's passing. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and residents of Brightview Assisted Living where he was living since February 2022 after selling his West Nyack home of 62 years. He moved in and was immediately welcomed and connected with everyone there. It was a great experience for him and we are so grateful he was able to spend his last years in such a warm and loving environment.
