S. Charles Musumeci, Jr., 64, of Franklin Lakes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
To know Charles was to know kindness, laughter, and generosity. He had the biggest heart, one that was always open to others, and a gift for making people feel loved, valued, and seen. Whether he was helping a friend in need, supporting his family, or lifting spirits with a perfectly timed joke, Charles left a mark on everyone lucky enough to cross his path. As many have expressed over the past few days, he truly was "THE BEST."
He was an entrepreneur with vision and determination, building businesses like CJM Planning, H2M Beverages, and most recently 360 Fire Prevention alongside many other side ventures. But to Charles, these were never just companies-they were families. He treated every employee with respect and love, creating an environment where people knew they mattered. Even outside of his own work, those who knew him knew that if they had a problem, big or small, they could call Moose, who would take matters into his own hands and if he didn't have a buddy who could fix it, he'd simply fix it himself.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charles found joy in his passions. He loved the game of golf and the freedom of flying airplanes, and through those pursuits, he formed lifelong friendships that meant so much to him. The connections he built on the course and in the skies were a true testament to his gift for bringing people together.
What mattered most to Charles, though, was his own family. He adored his wife, Kimberly, and was endlessly proud of the life and family they built together. He loved his daughter Ashley and his son CJ with all his heart, and welcomed his daughter-in-law Christina as though she had been his own. Charles never missed an opportunity to share his pride in their accomplishments-no matter the magnitude-talking about them to anyone and everyone who would listen. His family was his greatest joy, and the love he had for them was evident to all who knew him.
Over the last two years, Charles showed incredible courage as he fought a tough battle. Even in the hardest times, his concern was never for himself but for those he loved-making sure his family and friends would be okay when his time was up. His strength, selflessness, and unwavering love will remain a lasting inspiration.
Charles was the cherished husband of Kimberly Musumeci (née Doubleday), beloved father of daughter Ashley Musumeci, son CJ Musumeci, and his wife Christina. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Musumeci (née Presti), his brother, Joseph Musumeci and wife Geraldine, his brothers in law Thomas Stacy, Geof Doubleday and his wife Karen and Alan Doubleday and his wife Denyce and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, S. Charles Musumeci Sr., his sister, Charlene Stacy, and his in-laws Ralph and Jean Doubleday. He was also a proud Poppy to his grand-puppies Enzo (Big Head) and Hudson (Little Head).
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue,
Paramus, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Annunciation R.C. Church, 50 W. Midland Ave., Paramus. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park,
Paramus, NJ.
Charles expressed that it was his wish to have those attending his visitation bring one of their favorite photos with him, including a note on the back for his wife and children to treasure in the years to come. These keepsakes will be a celebration of the many ways Charles touched lives and a reminder of the love he gave so freely.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Charles' memory may be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, two organizations Charles held very near and dear to his heart.
