Salvatore V. Nardello

Salvatore V. Nardello, on January 27, 2025, of Berlin. Age 94. Son of the late Sullivan and Viola Nardello (nee Izraelski) and grandson of the late Bronislaw and Mary Izraelski (nee Fortunski). Beloved husband of the late Mary-Theresa Nardello (nee Erickson). Loving father of Christine Cantera (Dennis), Theresa Nardello, Leslie Sims (Dennis) and Joseph Nardello (Christine). Devoted grandfather of Jamie Sims (Ashlee), Salvatore "Sam" Nardello (Nina), Peter Nardello (Kristin), Beau Cantera (Kathryn), Mary-Theresa Unger and Alisa Unger (Adam). Cherished great-grandfather of Gianna, Oliver, Theodore "Teddy", Gabriella, Salvatore, Santino, Luca, Anna Rose, Lena, Claire, Regina, Tessa, Vincent and Alexander "Cash". Dear brother of Doris Cuneo and the late Joseph Nardello.
Sal was a man of many talents and interests. He dedicated himself to a lifelong career in the tool and die trade, mentoring many young machinists in his nearly 60 years in the business. Sal was a superb all-around athlete, playing minor league ball for the Brooklyn Dodgers and earning a place in the South Jersey Baseball Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golf, gardening, astronomy, woodworking, photography, was an avid reader and student of history, particularly of the American Civil War, and was a generous supporter of various charitable causes. At 94 he still had childhood friends with whom he shared his life. Above all he cherished his family and was married to his beautiful childhood sweetheart Terry for 52 years. He had a close relationship with every one, and a special bond with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their "Pop" showed them all his love. He is a legend among his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 9:30 - 11:00 am at St. Simon Stock Church, 178 W. White Pike, Berlin, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Salvatore's memory may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project by clicking on the link below.
