Sam Clewis Obituary

Sam E. Clewis, 91 of Conway, SC., passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025 after
An illness.
Mr. Clewis was born in Whiteville, NC., a son of the late Arthur and Delphia Canady
Clewis. He was a faithful member of White Savannah Free Will Baptist Church. He
Retired as owner and operator of Clewis Convenience Store.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Clewis; daughter, JoAnne Clewis;
Sister, Mazelle Ludlam; brother, Johnny Clewis.
He is survived by grandson, Benji McDowell; brother, Leroy (Mary) Clewis; three
Sisters, Minnie Bell Hucks, Mary Cooper, and Nora (Willard) Freeman; several
nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to, Sheila Benton, Karen Singleton, and Travis Montgomery for
their caregiving, love and support to Sam during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, March 28, 2025 at White Savannah
Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, directed by
Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm, Friday at the Church.
Memorials may be made to White Savannah Free Will Baptist Church, 4010 Hwy. 65,
Conway, SC 29526.
