Sam Ertebati

Our family is devastated to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our son, Sam Ertebati, who passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 41. We will feel the absence of Sam forever and the cherished memories of him will live on in our hearts.

Sam was born April 3, 1984, in Phoenix, Arizona, and remained in Phoenix all his life. He married his wife, Celestina, on June 18, 2012. Sam began his career as an auto body technician with Auto Body World in Phoenix, working several years there before joining ABC Nissan in Phoenix, where he worked for nearly 20 years. He had earned numerous certificates of completion for welding training from I-Car Collision & Welding.

Sam was such a bright light in our lives. He was most passionate about his two sons, Danny and Sami, who he loved very much-his sons were his life. Sam enjoyed spending time at home with his two sons, barbequing on his patio, cooking on the weekends, and visiting his parents and many friends. He was an avid fan of the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Cardinals. Sam never met a person he didn't like – he could start a conversation with anyone. He liked to talk and definitely had the gift of gab. Sam was a dear friend to many and loved by all who knew him.

Sam leaves behind his sons, Daniel James and Sami; his mother and father, Ellen Lynn and Hassan Ertebati; his grandmother Ellen Rains, DeSoto, Kansas; his uncle Brad Rains, Gardner, Kansas; his uncle Wes Rains (Julie), Gardner, Kansas; his aunt Beth Grizzle (James), DeSoto, Kansas; his uncle Firooz Ertebati, San Diego, California; 10 cousins and many more extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N .7th Street, Phoenix, on February 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Visit hansenmortuary.com for online condolences.
