Sam Gause Obituary

Sam Thomas "Tommy" Gause, age 79, of Abbottsburg passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare in Whiteville. He was born in Bladen County on September 1, 1943 the son of the late James Clarence Gause and Bertie Callihan Gause. He was preceded by his parents, five brothers Roland, Mitchell, Cary, Larry and James Gause and one sister Mable Fields.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Rich Gause of the home, son, Dwayne Gause and wife Melody of Abbottsburg, brother Oliver Gause of Elizabethtown, sister Thelma Tugwell and husband Bobby of Farmville, two grandchildren Matthew Gause and wife Amanda of Abbottsburg, Nicole Gause Walters and husband Brad of Elizabethtown, two great grandchildren, Katie Branch Gause and Carson Walters, a special family friend Pam Cain of Bladenboro, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Bladenboro Chapel of Bladen Gaskins in Bladenboro. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 11th at the Richardson Baptist Church on 2037 Richardson Road in Bladenboro with the Rev. Darin Andrews, Randy Grimsley and Reverend Jeff Gause. Burial will follow the services in the Lewis Cemetery of Bladenboro.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Shoreland Healthcare & Retirement Center in Whiteville and the staff of Lower Cape Fear Lifecare in Whiteville for the excellent care provided for Tommy during his illness.
