Samantha Anne "Sam" Comer

Samantha "Sam" Anne (Martin) Comer, 43, of Tampa, Florida, passed away March 24, 2023 at her home with her family after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in South Tampa to Danny and Mary (Murray) Martin on April 23, 1979, growing up with a younger sister, Christina Lee (Martin) Shumate, until graduation from St Patrick's Catholic School and Robinson High School (class of 1997). During her time in school, much of her "free" time was spent with her grandmother, Cassie Lee (Moody) Murray and her extended family by "Granny's" pool on Paxton Ave (just a few houses away). After graduation, "Sam" worked as a Machinist, Bookkeeper and HR Manager for DSE, Inc (and its subsidiary, Balimoy Manufacturing) in Tampa and Pinellas County office.

Sam was a devoted mother, daughter, wife, aunt, grandma, niece, and cousin, who had the unique ability to touch the hearts of all those in her life: family, friends, and strangers. "Sam" is survived by her father, Danny (wife, Pia Jacobs); her mother, Mary (husband, Jay Fazakerley); her husband of eighteen years (7/2/2004), Jon Martin Comer (and their two children: Alexandra Marie Kirk and Jon Martin Comer, Jr); her younger sister, Christina (husband, Scott Shumate); three beautiful grandsons (Zachary Jr, William and Nathan Kirk); four amazing Aunts (Cathy Martin, Theresa Franks, Colleen Nadolny and Lillie Holly); her "maternal" Grandfather, Robert Murray; her in-laws Connie and Thomas Morrill (her husband's parents) plus Deborah Gonzalez (Sam's mother in-law from her first marriage)…and many other family members (aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brother in-laws and sister in-laws).

Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral at St Patrick's Catholic Church (4518 S. Manhattan Ave. Tampa Florida) on Friday April 14, 2023, at 10am. Memorial donations can be made to any charity of your choice in honor of "Samantha Anne Comer".
