Sami Kraim

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow we announce the passing of Sami Kraim. A beloved patriarch, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a great grandfather.

Sami was born in Iraq in the village of Telkaif. He lost his mother at a very tender age when he was only 3 years old, he struggled without his mother and had a difficult childhood, but even at a very young age nothing could stop him or deter him, he endured a lot of pain and suffering but managed to push through all the difficulties and hardships.

Sami moved to Baghdad when he was only 10 years old, he lived with various relatives and began working to support himself, he became a young man and got a job at the AL-Dora oil refinery where he worked for 35 years, he worked extremely hard and excelled with his work, he would often work 36 hours non stop, his passion for work, excellence and dedication was quickly recognized by the director of the refinery, he started moving up the ranks and was eventually promoted to head of his entire department.

At his retirement ceremony many government officials were among the attendees including the minister of oil, who personally met him and thanked him for his many contributions to the refinery.

To acknowledge his achievements, his name and picture were added to the board of honor, where his picture still stands till this day.

Sami married the love of his life Basima Roumaya Kraim in 1960 and were blessed with 6 children.

He immigrated to America in 1992, where he continued his journey while upholding the same principles.

Sami was a man of faith, a devout Catholic, though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will remain with us always. We find comfort knowing he has returned to the arms of the Lord, where he'll watch over us with heavenly peace.

Sami is the son of the late Batto Kraim and the late Naima Kraim.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years Basima Roumaya Kraim and 6 children, Linda Semma, Anam Orow, Nazar Kraim, Faris Kraim, Angham Konja and Bashar Kraim.

Let us honor his memory by carrying forward his legacy and the lessons he taught us.
