In his leisure time he enjoyed watching TV, and spending time with his family and friends.
On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Sammy David Dewberry' name was called, and he answered and was set free from all sickness and pain. Rest now in peace and comfort, your journey has ended, battle fought, and victory won. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. D. Mangham, and Sarah Mangham.
Sammy leaves a legacy of memory to cherish in the hearts of his siblings, Jeannie Mangham, Alfred "Leon" Dewberry, Gary (Lisa) Dewberry, Clifford (Peggy) Drewery, Charlotte (Robert) Green, Andy (Vickie) Mangham, and Johnathan Mangham; aunt, Katie Dewberry, and uncles, Eddie James Dewberry, and Preston Mangham He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Burden's Funeral Home. Service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Burden's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in New Mt. Calvary Church Cemetery. Minister Clara Dennis Jackson is the Eulogist and Pastor Lamar Dewberry will Officiate.
