Sammy Grantland Obituary
Sammy passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at his home in Lindale. He was born October 2, 1961, in Durant, Oklahoma to the late John Carter and Imogean (Davidson) Grantland. Sammy was a longtime resident of Lindale. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, and spending time with his beloved family. Sammy was preceded in death by stepfather, Dan Gallup; grandparents, Curby and Bessie Davidson and Archie Grantland, and Lula Wallace; and sister, Debbie Grant.
He is survived by brothers, Johnny Paul Grantland, Johnny Eugene Grantland, David Grantland, and Timothy Grant; sisters, Carol Smith, Liz Sanchez, Pam Granados, Lisa Lenington, and Amanda Romo; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricardo Lopez, Chuck Beal, Hector Rosas, Calvin Grant, Calvin "Bo" Grant, and Jonathan Garzee; honorary pallbearers are Johnny Eugene Grantland, Emily Lopez, and Raymond Sanchez.
Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.

I spoke to him the day he passed I didn't suspect that he would pass, but we went to fish before and he caught the biggest fish ever! It was the biggest fish I've ever seen anyone catch.
