Sammy Dean Mogridge

A celebration of life for Sammy Dean Mogridge will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Welty Church of God.Sammy passed on February 18, 2025 at his home in Mason, Oklahoma. He was born October 2, 1941 to Tommy and Hazel Mogridge. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas and Hoyt Mogridge; mother and father in law, Evelyn and Ray Bogle; two sisters in law, Sandy Shepard and Dorothy Mogridge; one brother in law, A.D. Been and one grandson, Jordan McKaughan.Sammy is survived by his wife, Rita Mogridge of 64 years and 65 years on June 4th; his sons, Randy and Marty Mogridge; daughters in law, Amber and Sherry Mogridge; 8 grandchildren, Amanda and Greg Bailey, Brien and Michelle Dodson, Bobby and Ashley Johnson, Ryan and Natalie Mogridge, Jake and Andria Johnson, Mike and Nicole Patterson, Jaret and Tosha Grammer and Garrett and J.J. Mogridge; 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.Sammy loved to garden and gave most of it away! He loved taking care of his cows and chickens and also loved building his homes. Sammy loved working construction with his family. He loved talking all about growing up and remembering the old days and how much things had changed over the years. Sammy loved his sons, who he always called daily and sometimes more. He loved his daughters-in-law and how close they were. Sammy truly loved his family and all the get togethers they had. He loved his boat and would spend time on the water almost daily, especially at his river home. Family wanted to fish so he took them out fishing and lots and lost of catfish were had by all! Sammy made many lifelong friends while working in construction. He would have a host of family and friends around him who just thought the world of him. May he be blessed and have peace forever more!Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Mogridge, Jake Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Garrett Mogridge, Brien Dodson, Mike Patterson, Harold Bogle, Larry Bogle, Clint Poole and Richard Shepard.Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
