I am so sorry for your loss. I always looked at him in church because he resembles my son so much. Chelsea my prayers are with you and the family. I know what you are experiencing as my daughter fiance passed 2 yrs ago leaving behind an 8 month baby. Only thing that has help the situation get a bit easier is lots of praying. God bless you all.

Sam was a "stand out" yet I never met him. Let me explain.

I´m watching my son, Adam´s, baseball game in East Hartford at McKenna field. The other team had a catcher who was notable. He commanded his position with skill and respect. He stood out among all his teammates. I have coached for years and my son, Adam, was a pitcher; recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of our opponents came naturally to me.
Years pass.
I´m at a Hebert party where Chelsea introduced us to her boyfriend, Sam. As I shake his hand I recognize Sam as the catcher in the East Hartford baseball game. I shared with him that he made an impact on me. Not only was he a standout for his baseball skills but fir his effective, respectful demeanor.
We then shared baseball stories.

As time passed I watch Sam, who was "on the other team" become a man on the same team! Sam gave his life to Christ as I did many years ago. We have this race to run and Sam chose to run it with Chelsea. Watching the two of them unite in Christ was one of my proudest moments. Chelsea is like a daughter to me and to see her commit her life to Christ was great but to see her unite with Sam was at an other level. Both united in Christ!
I will end with this.
Sam impacted my life when I met him ( impressed with his work ethic) and then again when he left us ( moved by his christian walk).

May all who knew Sam reexamine their lives and challenge themselves to be more. Sam gave us his all. Christ laid his life down for all. May we do the same.
Thanks for listening.
