Samuel D. Arion

Age 92, of East Tawas, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. Samuel was born on February 21, 1933, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Simeon and Anna (Berien) Arion. He spent his childhood years in Flint, and was a graduate of Hoover High School, Class of 1951. After high school Samuel was drafted into the United States Army where he proudly served our country from 1953-1955. He was honorably discharged from the Army after serving two years and finished with the rank of "Private First Class". While in high school he entered the workforce with Buick in Flint, and following his time in the military he returned to work with the company. Samuel spent 30 years at Buick as a factory worker and held several other positions within the company before his retirement in 1985. Once retired, he relocated himself to Florida where he spent the next 38 years. In 2022, he moved to East Tawas, Michigan to be closer to his family, and that is where he resided for the remainder of his life.

Some of Samuel's favorite hobbies consisted of being an avid sports fan - especially for his Detroit Tigers, Lions, Pistons, and Michigan Wolverines, going fishing, golfing, bowling, gardening, playing softball and pickleball, card games, bingo, going out to eat, and most importantly spending quality time with his family and friends whenever he had the chance. Samuel was a man of pure class that had a heart of gold, and he will be missed dearly by many.

Samuel is survived by his children, Terry (Carlene) Arion, Tammy (Dave) Steffey, and Tracy (Steve) Menosky; grandchildren, Terry Arion Jr., Jesse Shultz, Jasmine Shultz-Westbrook, Matt Menosky, Tony Menosky, and Angela Menosky-Diaz; five great grandchildren; his former wife who he loved to play cards and watch sports with, Joyce Vance; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Simeon and Anna, Samuel is preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Elledge, David Hostler, Dan "Gene" Arion, Richard Arion, Anita Ranger, and Tony Arion.

Per Samuel's wishes, he will be laid to rest in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. His internment will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM. You may leave an online condolence at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
