Samuel Timothy Breen

Samuel Timothy Breen, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Breen is a son of the late Eugene Francis and Agnes Roseman Breen. Samuel served in the United States Army from 1952 through 1953, worked for Bluefield Daily Telegraph in 1969 and later retired from Government Printing Office in Washington DC. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and spent his life in service to the Lord. Mr. Breen was ready to go to Heaven. He enjoyed all sports, especially football and basketball. In addition to his parents, Samuel is preceded in death by one daughter, Lila Gene Theberge; brother, Eugene "Sonny" F. Breen; and sister, Jeannine A. Rees. Samuel Timothy Breen has left behind to cherish his memory: wife, Phyllis Wallace Breen; sisters, Kathy Walker of Bluefield, WV, Judith Rolan and husband, Bob of Bluefield, WV; children, Michael T. Breen and wife, Susan of Homestead, FL, David D. Breen of Bluefield, WV; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Jennings and husband, Melvin of Greenbrier, AR, Geri Miller and husband, Armon of Minneapolis, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Samuel Timothy Breen in a funeral service to be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held following the funeral service, in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those attending the committal service should meet at Valley by 1:15 pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
