Samuel Cribbs Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 13, 2025.
Sam Dennis Cribbs, Jr., age 54, passed away on October 2, 2025, at his home in Brazoria, Texas. Born on December 5, 1970, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Sam lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a deep love for his family and his country.

Sam graduated from Jasper County High School in Monticello, Georgia in 1988 and attended Texas College. In 1991, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country and attained the rank of Sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge in 1998. His time in the military was a defining chapter of his life-one that instilled in him a strong work ethic and a commitment to helping others.

Following his military service, Sam built a diverse and hardworking career. He worked as an herbicide spray technician for both the Texas Department of Transportation and Brazoria County. He also held positions as a CDL driver for Waste Management and later served as a bus driver and mechanic's helper with the Columbia-Brazoria ISD Transportation Department. In every role he took on, Sam was known for his reliability, dedication, and ever-present smile.

Sam had many passions that brought joy to his life and those around him. He loved fishing and woodworking-often crafting or fixing things with care and precision. He enjoyed "junking," finding treasures where others saw none, and had a knack for repairing appliances. He loved going to estate sales and finding that one "treasure" everyone else overlooked. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his wife Stephanie, visiting his daughter Chasity and grandson Oliver who were his pride and joy and the loves of his life. He always looked forward to spending time with family and friends. His laughter was contagious, and he found great happiness in making others laugh alongside him.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Stephanie; his mother Ann Cribbs; his daughter Chasity Cribbs; grandson Oliver; brother Rusty Cribbs wife Angel; sister Amy (Cribbs) Miedke husband Steve; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by his warmth.

Sam was preceded in death by his father Sam Cribbs Sr., father-in-law N.D. Brast, along with his paternal and maternal grandparents, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A man of unwavering kindness and generosity, Sam never hesitated to lend a hand or share a smile. He was deeply devoted to those he loved-a true family man whose legacy will live on through the many lives he impacted. He will be missed by all who loved him
