James Cribbs Obituary

Born in Daytona Beach, James had been a mechanic in the auto repair industry for all of his working life. He had been a small business owner, and in his leisure time, enjoyed fishing, racing, camping, and vacationing at the beach. He was of the Baptist faith and was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Cribbs and Elsie Olgesby Cribbs; wife, Virginia Skipper Cribbs; sister, Margaret Wilkinson; and grandchildren, Shelby Cribbs and Anthony Cribbs, Jr.
Surviving are four sons, James Cribbs, Jr., William Cribbs, Anthony Cribbs (Mary K), and Justin Mann; four daughters, Samantha Cribbs (Eric), Angela Cribbs (Charles), Gloria Harvey (Josh) and Candace Ayala (Junior); seven brothers, Franklin Cribbs, Michael Cribbs; Nelson Cribbs (Teresa), Jeffery Cribbs (Patti), Vernon Cribbs (Jamie), Robert Cribbs (Carrie), and Archie Cribbs (Christina);and two sisters, Della Cribbs (Rich), and Margie Murrow.
Also surviving are his many grandchildren, Kattie Cribbs, Macey Cribbs, Summer Skinner, Rebecca Blackwelder (Chris), Aaron Blackwelder, Raymond Sapp (Destanee), Kimberly Sapp (Freddie), Jamie Sapp, Logan Sapp (Cathy), Hayley Harvey (Gator), Travis Harvey, Jr., Savannah Blackwelder (Lizzie), Elizabeth Cribbs, Emma Cribbs, Braxton Stewart (Avry), Lyndsey Hatton, Gabriella Ayala, Tyson White, Jonathan Burkes (Cassie), Leann Burkes, Evan Burkes, Jaidyne Mann, Jourdyn Mann, Wyatt Bolin, and Ethan Bolin.
Calling hours will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Bostwick Cemetery.
