JOY ELIZABETH LATHAM
December 19, 1998 – October 2, 2025
God blessed our family with Joy on December 19, 1998-a beautiful gift given to us just before Christmas. Her grandmother, Gaga, suggested the name "Joy," and it was truly fitting, not only because of the season but also because joy is a fruit of the Spirit, produced in those who walk with Christ Jesus.
From a young age, Joy had a tender heart and cared deeply for her siblings. She matured quickly, always looking after her brothers, and was passionate about standing up for those who could not defend themselves. She also had a special love for her dog, Monster, who brought her much happiness and companionship. Her family and friends will always remember her in this way and will take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the arms of our Savior, where there is no more pain-only everlasting joy.
Joy passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at her Interlachen residence and is survived by her loving mother, Priscilla Latham; her grandparents, Ronnie and Samantha Devane; her sister, Rachel Redford; her brothers, Christopher Latham, George Coupal, Tommy Coupal, Levi Coupal, and Jacob Peeples; and her two beloved daughters, Mercedes and Miya. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Shirley Luke Devane. She is also lovingly remembered by her uncle, Joel Devane; her aunt, Lacey Crisler; her uncle, Ronnie Devane, and his wife, Mandie; her cousins, Frank, Lonnie, Jamie, Justin, William, and Emily; and many more family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
