Mr. Samuel J. Dagostino, of Waltham, died Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in Care Dimensions Hospice Residence in Lincoln. He was 100.
He was born on May 9, 1925 in Concord a son of the late Italian immigrants Vincenzo and Francesca (Maglione) Dagostino. Raised and educated in Waltham he later married Mary C. Parisi on December 29, 1946 in Sacred Heart Church.
With an instilled discipline from his parents, Sam was never one to shy away from hard work which made for long work days. In 1956 he established Dagostino Oil as well in the 1970’s and 1980’s car washes in Waltham and Stoughton.
He and Mary enjoyed many winters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then later in Boca Raton.
Sam was predeceased by his son, Richard C. Dagostino and siblings, Josephine Piccariello, Gennaro Dagostino and Lena Beaudoin.
In addition to his wife of 78 years, Mary, he leaves his children, Vincent J. Dagostino (Janet) of Hobe Sound, Florida, Robert A. Dagostino (Sandra) and Frances M. Muzyka (Gene) all of Waltham; his daughter-in-law, Terrie Dagostino of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his grandchildren, Samuel Dagostino (Tricia) Christine Dagostino Jennifer Wiegmann (Michael) Dawn Dagostino Amy Muzyka and Mark Muzyka(Briana); his great-grandchildren, Aviana, Christian, Taylor, Reed, Isabella and Robert; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Sam's life on Wednesday, September 3rd in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
