Samuel Farmer Obituary
Tom's professional career truly followed his personal passions.
His deep faith in Christ led him to spend 10 years as Associate Pastor and Worship Leader at Heritage Cathedral in Marianna, FL. Tom's love of the outdoors inspired him to spend three years as co-owner of The Sports Shop. His entrepreneurial spirit served him well in his early career as an insurance agent and owner of his own insurance agency as well as later in life doing residential property investment work. Tom's strong work ethic and practical nature guided him to spend time in the trucking industry with stints in the western U.S. as well as locally with more than a decade working with Williams Brothers Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Snowden Samuel Farmer, Jr. and Mary Ruth Miller Farmer.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Johanna Farmer; daughter, Laura Basford and husband, Adam; their children, Jackson, Owen and Weston Basford, Brian Gay, Sophie Basford, Addison Basford and Brydon Basford; three sisters, Linda Gail Hall and husband, Herb, Melody Denham and husband, Dale, Joy Buczek and husband, Tony.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 12, 2025 at Rivertown Community Church with Adam Basford officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at Rivertown Community Church.
Flowers will be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made to Innovative Charities of Northwest Florida (1994 Hwy 71 South, Marianna, FL, 32448) or at https://innovativecharities.org/donate.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
